Biodiversity-friendly management practices in semi-natural grasslands

Semi-natural areas present a unique land use challenge: they often are rich in biodiversity and therefore ideal targets for conservation, but at the same time are valued for their land use potential. They are often also areas of historical and cultural significance.

This working group will explore potential “win-win” scenarios where land management can occur, and biodiversity conservation targets can also be reached.

We are currently reaching out to practitioners and researchers to define the topic boundaries and appropriate synthesis approach and look forward to building a working group in early 2026.
